Okanogan Estate and Vineyards Tasting Room

Okanogan Estate and Vineyards Tasting Room is located in Leavenworth, while the Okanogan Estate and Vineyards is a hidden treasure located in Oroville, Washington. Oroville is a turn-of-the-century gold mining town in the Okanogan Valley, five miles south of British Columbia, Canada. In 1938 the local fruit cooperative, United Growers, needed a name for their fruit label.

Okanogan Vineyard Tasting Room

Okanogan Estate and Vineyards Tasting Room is located in downtown Leavenworth where you will find a wonderful selection of their wines and dessert wines.

The origin of Oroville’s name stems from the Spanish word for gold, “Oro”, so the innovative growers thought “Gold Digger” would be an appropriate name for their label. In later years the company changed their name to Gold Digger Apples, Inc. The company is still a cooperative owned by the local fruit growers. In 1999, Gold Digger Apples planted its first Vineyards and in 2000 they started the winery formally known as Gold Digger Cellars. In 2003 Gold Digger Cellars changed their name to Okanogan Estate & Vineyards to better connect their wine with the unique growing region of the Okanogan Valley.
