This local store has been around since 1915 and serves a locally inspired menu. Gourmet sandwiches, soups and salads, pizza, 100% grass fed hamburgers, as well as daily specials. Finish this off with espresso, ice cream cones or fresh baked goods. You’ll also find beer, wine, and cider.

Gourmet full-service menu with wine, beer, and also espresso – all at reasonable prices. It’s about 15 minutes out of Bellingham and features a drive-up bar. They also have live music and events. Open Thursday through Sunday.

One of the historic places to check out in Whatcom County, you’ll find the perfect combination of fresh ale and hand-tossed pizza. It’s a pizzeria, brewery, wedding chapel, and beer museum all wrapped up in one destination. Check it out during the annual Mt. Baker Banked Slalom and you likely see some famous faces enjoying a pint or two.

The Welcome Grocery is brand new and you can either eat in or take out. Fresh-made home-style breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Pastries, deli sandwiches, rotisserie chicken and more. It’s also the largest bottle shop in the region.

Chair 9 is a great place to enjoy a family meal or a cold brew after a day on the mountain. Bands play on the weekends, and there is lots of space for dancing. What is really nice is that you can get the pizza toppings on corn chips – perfect if you are looking for gluten free options. Open for lunch and dinner. Dine in or take out. They have a Chair 9 facebook page with their music events.

Have a seet at the legendary bar and sample the rotating selections of fine craft beers, wine, and ciders. Serving fresh rustic pub fare with some great daily specials. Breakfast is available on weekends.


Milano’s Restaurant

Open for 27 years, Milano’s has been a long time landmark in the Mount Baker foothills. Now under new ownership since 2015 they have improved traditional Italian recipes plus they have daily specials.

Two restaurants in one. Milano’s, 27 years of great Italian food with an amazing wine list; and Bar Veneto, a craft bar with a high end and unique taco menu.
